God led me to the JW congregation.
by jw ini rented a house in the late !970's and the contents in the home were given to me.. it happened to be books: ( making my life happy, revelation, children bible stories, listening to the great teacher ) i was enjoying the reading.. -----------------------------------.
a few years later began to notice awake magazines in doctor offices, and other public places and read them and enjoyed them.. ------------------------------------.
late 1980's my 7th son was 2 yrs.

My biggest concern is what you said about an open door. Demons and spirits do not need to open doors if I understand right.
I would have gotten a hold of the police if I were you and had them find out from your son what the intruder looked like and also ask them if there has been any problems in that or surrounding neiborhoods.

Do you have a JW FS over zealous experience?
by White Waves ini remember feeling like a must appear rude and crazy to show up at people's doors on christmas morning or new year's day.
things like these always made me wonder about the sanity of my parents, for one, and the organization.
why don't jws every get a day off?

I only went out one time for holiday and that was Thanksgiving.
I flatly told them I would NOT do anything else as it was ridiculous to disturb people on their favorite days.

Is it true? Are adultery or death the only scriptural escapes?
by Cabin in the woods inwe have so many wise and well read people here on jwd so i thought that i would just toss this out and see if i could get some new enlightenment on this.
are there any other references that i have not seen in the scriptures ( and i have looked pretty hard for this) that would allow divorce that are considered 'acceptable' ?
am i just spinning my wheels in that foolishness still?

This is just amazing. As I read along I think that I remember something to the effect that if a man does not care for the spiritual needs of his family then that is cause for divorce also. I am not certain when they slipped that one in but probably one of their later rules.
My concern now has obviously changed regarding that foolish organization. I no longer care about their rules but to really understand what the scriptures say esp. because so many things are not correctly translated in the NWT . It just makes it confusing. After much thought I have decided that I do believe in a personal creator and until I find something that I might hold more trust in I think that I will try to do things appropriate to the scriptures. That is why I ask the above question. Do all bibles back up that viewpoint? Or did the dubs twist the scriptures here as well.
If I am sounding confusing I do apologize.
